Marina and The Diamonds - Oh No

It has no appeal?

Oh No

I’m not sure about this one. I know everything I’ve said so far about Marina and The Diamonds has been good, but I think I might have had a little too much of an overload now. This certainly wasn’t one of the tracks that I preferred on the album. It has a nice little beat and some decent lyrics but it just doesn’t grab me as much as other singles. Her vocal style on it for the most part just feels quite false, but then she has that tendency across most of her songs. It also must be said that in this case there probably is a clever match between vocal style and lyrical content, but for me, I don't enjoy it. Marina has a great talent for having a very expressive and different vocal which usually works really well and is something I have enjoyed. I’m also not sure the robot/machine reference in two singles running is the best idea. I might have waited a little longer between releases and I probably wouldn’t have gone with this one, it’s not terrible by any means it just doesn’t do it for me I’m sorry to say.
